Introduction

the best value, we come across widely used terms, phrases Award Winners 02-11
and acronyms that may need some clarification.
Whilst we don’t have space to list them all - below is a list
of the more commonly used ones. If you find a term in the Gadgets 12-27 Gadgets
catalogue that you are unsure about we will be happy to
give you a full explanation.
Health & Travel 28-39
RCS & GRS - Recycled Claim Standard (RCS) and Global Recycled
Standard (GRS) set the criteria for third-party certification of recycled
materials and chain of custody. The GRS includes a higher (50%) minimum Work & Play 40-54 Health & Travel
recycled content percentage and additional social and environmental
requirements related to processing and chemical use.
GOTS - Global Organic Textile Standard, (GOTS) is the leading textile Bags & Folders 55-70
standard, certifying the environmental, chemical and social claims of all
stages of textile production.
Fairtrade - The FAIRTRADE® Mark is a registered certification label for Exhibition 71-82 Work & Play
products sourced from producers in lower income countries aiming to
protect workers basic rights, including a safe working environment whilst
ensuring employers pay at least the living wage in that area. Sweets & Treats 83-89
Biodegradable - Material that is capable of being decomposed, thereby
avoiding pollution.
rPET - Recycled PET (polyethylene terephthalate) is plastic made from Drinkware 90-110 Bags & Folders
repurposed waste PET from businesses and consumers. Most common
plastics recycled are water bottles and packaging.
PLA - Polylactic acid. Derived from renewable and organic sources such as Awards & Gifting 111-114
corn starch or sugarcane.
Prevented Ocean Plastic® - Traceable plastic material collected from
coastal areas at risk of ocean plastic pollution and recycled. Pens 115-133 Exhibition
Sugarcane bioplastic - Sugarcane which naturally absorbs CO is grown
